YZU fall detection device awarded by Vision 2025 Aging Forum 元智感測鞋墊「關懷步履」獲專業團體組銀獎

The fall detection heel pad, developed by Chu-Ching Lin (林楚卿), Associated Professor of Art and Design, wins the silver award of Vision 2025 Aging Forum. Lin and her research team, including Chia-Kai Cheng (鄭家凱), Po-Yen Chen (陳柏諺), and Hsin-Yu Chen (陳欣渝), design the pad equipped with fall detection device and prevent the elderly from serious injury caused by falling.

The pad connecting a transmitter sends signals to the mobile devices when the elderly who wears the shoe walks, sits down or even accidently falls, Lin says. The information transmits to two kinds of devices by IOT: the family members’ smartphone and intelligent vase. The vase, equipped with the sensor and LED light, sends signals while receiving information coming from the detection heel pad. Most importantly, the pad sends the alarm to the family members when the elderly fall accidently. The long-distant caregiving device helps people watching over the aging parents.

元智大學藝術與設計學系副教授林楚卿，及其團隊鄭家凱、陳柏諺、陳欣渝研發之感測鞋墊─關懷步履(steps &flowers)，參加Vision 2025時光徵件計畫，獲得專業團體組銀獎之殊榮。此感測鞋墊有跌倒偵測警示的輔助功能，減少高齡者居家意外的發生，讓獨居高齡者可得到更多的關懷。

關懷步履鞋墊的研發是從人文關懷的角度出發，設計一套可以給予長輩及晚輩共同使用的居家照護互動產品，藉此可讓兒女觀測在家長者的生活作息，也可以給予長者更多的關懷，同時它有跌倒偵測警示的輔助功能，減少高齡者居家意外悲劇的發生。這套易用性、趣味性及可適性的概念設計，非常適合高齡者的遠端照護，可提升兒女對於長輩的關懷與關注。

林楚卿表示，長輩穿上有壓力感測鞋墊的居家拖鞋，可以隨時偵測行走、坐下的動作，即使跌倒也可感測到，再透過物聯網將資訊傳到兒女或親人的辦公桌上的花器及手機App。兒女這方桌上的花器會轉動並顯示燈光，反映長輩跌倒或異象的動作訊息，同時App也會傳送相關資訊提醒，讓遠端兒女進一步瞭解長輩居家作息的狀態，適時給予關懷與問候。尤其跌倒時會傳送警示訊息，讓兒女可得知並做適當處理。
