YZU Global Cultural Initiative promotes new connection with three Taiwan’s allied nations 友邦三國大使齊聚元智 為寰宇締造國際新鏈結

Global Cultural Initiative is one of Yuan Ze University’s USR highlight programs to strengthen national competitiveness and English language ability. With the participation of Taoyuan City Deputy Mayor An-pang Kao, President Ching-Jong Liao and the Embassy of Saint Christopher and Nevis in Taiwan signed an agreement to promote the international cooperation of Higher Education Sprout Project on June 17. It will drive Yuan Ze University towards sustainable development and show the world the determination to fulfill its social responsibility.

Ambassador Andrea Bowman of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Ambassador Promise Msibi of Kingdom of Eswatini, who have signed agreements, also attended the ceremony.

「寰宇文化領航」為元智USR大學社會責任亮點計畫之一，以強化國家競爭力和厚植國人英語力為目標。6月17日在高安邦副市長的見證下，由元智大學廖慶榮校長代表與聖克里斯多福駐台大使館Embassy of Saint Christopher and Nevis簽署合作備忘錄，將高教深耕計畫邁向國際性合作，成為元智大學永續發展的動力，也讓世界看見元智落實社會責任的決心。  

 簽約典禮由桃園市高安邦副市長擔任見證人，高副市長表示，元智大學與市府團隊長期密切合作，今年再度與三國友邦大使館簽屬備忘錄，提升地方服務能量，成為大專院校的榜樣。副市長在典禮中也特別肯定黃郁蘭教授所帶領的寰宇團隊，為多元文化與雙語教育所做的諸多貢獻，期許元智與桃園永續攜手發展，實現共好共榮的遠景。 

 元智大學廖慶榮校長表示，特別感謝三國友邦大使齊聚元智，與寰宇計畫成為策略聯盟夥伴，為地方國際教育共同努力。駐台長達15年的聖克里斯多福哈菁絲大使H.E. Ambassador Jasmine Elise Huggins指出，文化知識就是力量，未來將與元智一起推廣聖克里斯多福的文化，以及加勒比海的民俗風情。她也承諾大使館將盡全力協助寰宇文化巡航活動，並帶領學生廣泛閱讀英語文化書籍，為莘莘學子打開全球視野。

 已與寰宇團隊締結合作的聖文森柏安卓大使Ambassador Andrea Bowman、以及史瓦帝尼蒙西比大使Ambassador Promise Msibi也同時出席盛會。柏安卓大使表示，能與元智簽署合作倍感榮幸，尤其看到計畫團隊所設計的「寰宇展翅」英語套書，透過擬人化的故事，帶領學童展翅飛向世界，深受感動。其中「寰宇展翅–飛向聖文森」單冊英語繪本，已成為大使館的經典藏書。史瓦帝尼蒙西比大使也在致詞中提到，寰宇計畫不僅是將國際教育普及化，也以拔尖扶弱的精神協助地方發展，期許寰宇計畫能夠日久天長，永續優化台灣的國際與雙語教育。
