Yuan Ze University in collaboration with NVIDIA, has established an AI Cross-Domain Innovation Application Center. This initiative, supported by Far Eastern Group—a conglomerate leveraging AI to enhance international competitiveness—aims to advance AI applications across various industries. With sponsorship and support from Far Eastern Group, the center is equipped with NVIDIA deep learning servers, providing resources for large-scale research projects and industry-academia collaboration initiatives. Notably, several distinguished alumni are currently employed at NVIDIA.

元智大學與輝達公司的合作，除了有優秀校友服務於輝達公司，2019年當時人工智慧已成顯學，橫跨眾多產業的遠東集團，期運用AI技術強化國際競爭力。在遠東集團的贊助與支持下，元智大學設立人工智慧跨域創新應用中心，建置NVIDIA深度學習伺服器，提供校內大型研究案或產學合作專案使用。
元智大學研發長方士豪表示，為能及時因應教學與研究需求，元智是極早期投入AI基礎建設的學校，也是極少數在當時能獲得國科會國家型AI計畫的私立大學。近期元智與國際三大雲端公司合作，結合NVIDIA的硬體環境與Google, Amazon和微軟等國際雲端的教學資源與軟體，加快學生教學與研究跨領域的學習。此外，元智與亞東醫院密切合作，導入AI技術開發醫療器材與疾病預測等技術，加速孕育智慧健康解決方案與應用場景。
元智透過集團中電信、醫院、百貨等事業體中的大數據資料，不但具有最豐富且多樣性的產業資料，亦是全球極少數能有實體場域，迅速結合客戶需求，進行數據洞察與科學研究之學校。透過各類產學合作協助政府以及產業運用AI發展創新服務。根據EduRank排名，元智大學在Computer Science(計算機科學)的研究，為私校第一。
