OCAC sponsor Burma Chinese Youth to learn in YZU「嘻遊記」僑委會贊助緬甸華裔青年到元智取經

With the New Southern Policy of Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), Yuan Ze University planed an experience camp that has attracted Chinese Youth from seven high schools of Myanmar in just short months.

In opening ceremony, Secretary Zhong from OCAC welcomed the youth back Taiwan and encouraged everyone to feel the diversity and inclusion in Taiwan, and experience the achievement of political democracy and economic development.  Most important of all, they can enjoy Taiwanese food and cultural creativity.  Prof. Ching-Pu Chen, director of OIA, greeted Burma students to YZU and he said that the students would fall in love with Taiwan after experience this country.  He believes that if they decide to come back Taiwan to study, they will have different life.

7月29日正當尼莎颱風過境台灣當天傍晚，一群來自緬甸的稀客，已安全悄然抵達桃園機場，趕在尼莎颱風暴風圈壟罩台灣之前，飛機幸運的躲過暴風雨安全落地。配合僑委會的南向政策，由元智大學負責規劃，本次體驗營短短幾個月，吸引了緬甸四個考區，七所中學的華裔青年報名參加。

短短兩週的行程，這批55位在學的青少年朋友，將體驗台灣高教豐富的教學資源，與元智終身教育部所安排資訊傳播與綠能環保方面的專業課程，同時參訪五所技專院校。

營隊開展前，元智的隊輔一早就為他們分組，透過團隊學習，提升學習效果，從他們活潑熱情的參與表現，可以預期今年的暑假將會收穫滿滿，終身難忘。

始業式中，僑委會鍾文昌秘書特別歡迎大家回到台灣，他勉勵大家要用心看台灣社會的多元與包容，領會政治民主化的成就與經濟發展的成果，同時更從生活中去品味台灣各種美食小吃與文化創意。接著元智大學全球事務處陳勁甫國際長也代表學校致詞，歡迎緬甸的學生來到元智，經由「看見台灣」、「快樂學習」一定會「愛上台灣」，如果再選擇回到台灣學習，相信將有機會翻轉人生。

當年唐三藏法師遠赴印度取經，使得佛法在唐朝大興，期許這批優秀的緬甸學生，也能效法這種精神到台灣取經，將台灣最好的優點，帶回緬甸發揚光大！
