YZU enters the Times Higher Education 150 under 50 Rankings 2016全球新興潛力大學 元智大學再入榜

The Times Higher Education releases 150 best young universities in the world rankings. Taiwan has five schools on the list and has the most institutes in Asia.  YZU says it is honored for being one of the ranking and promises for more contribution of higher education in Taiwan.

The Times has released the rankings for five years, and 39 universities are on the list this year. Five schools in Taiwan include Taiwan Tech, ranked 43; National Yang-Ming University ranked 96. Chang Gung University, National Sun Yat-sen University, and YZU rank among 101 to 150.

École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne ( EPFL) tops in the rankings, and No.2 to 5 are Nanyang Technological University of Singapore(NTU), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST), Pohang University of Science and Technology(POSTECH), and Korea Institute of Science and Technology(KIST).

英國「泰晤士報高等教育專刊」昨公布全球建校不到50年的前150名大學排行榜，由瑞士洛桑聯邦理工學院拔得頭籌，第2至5名分別是新加坡南洋理工大學、香港科技大學、南韓浦項科技大學及南韓高等科學技術研究院。台灣共有5所大學上榜，是亞洲國家最多，其中，元智大學已連續幾年入榜全球新興潛力大學之列。

泰晤士報高等教育專刊（Times Higher Education）連續第5年公布創校不到50年的全球最佳大學排行，共來自39個國家，東亞國家共有20所上榜，英國以25所排名第1，澳洲19所排名第2。主編巴堤（Phil Baty）指出，這150所建校不到50年的大學，都是年輕富有活力的高等學府，排名前10名的學校中有半數建校30年，或是來自創造世界級大學的國家地區，如香港、南韓和新加坡，也讓英美不得不也跟著提高競爭。

台灣是今年全球年輕大學調查亞洲最具代表性的國家，有5所上榜，不過雖然上榜的大學數量比其它亞洲國家高，但是排名不高，國立台灣科技大學排名第43，是台灣排名最高的大學，國立陽明大學排列第96名，長庚、國立中山大學及元智大學排名都在第101到150名之間。
元智大學表示，再次入榜全球潛力大學，肯定元智的辦學績效，面對外在激烈的競爭環境，只有更加的努力，尋求對外發展與創新，未來將更積極努力辦學，提升整體的教研品質，營造更優質的學習環境。

這是「泰晤士報高等教育特刊」第5年發布這項創校50年內的新興大學排行榜，以教學、國際化、產學合作、研究、引用率等指標來評選年輕大學。
