YZU wins Silver Prize of Big Data Analytics for Semiconductor Manufacturing Contest元智電機COMOL團隊 榮獲第二屆半導體大數據分析競賽亞軍

YZU COMOL Team, led by Electrical Engineering Professor Kan-Lin Hsiung (熊甘霖), wins the silver award and 100 thousand dollars in the Second Big Data Analytics for Semiconductor Manufacturing Contest. The team, including graduate students Hsin Yu Chen (陳訢畬) Kuo Ming Huang (黃國閔), also wins the Special Prize of 10 thousand and a brand new laptop in MATLAB Data Analysis Contest, sponsored by TeraSoft Inc.

The Big Data Analytics for Semiconductor Manufacturing Contest, co-hosted by Tsing Hua University and TSMC Inc., has started the First Contest since June 2015. Professor Hsiung says the contest is pretty competitive, as all attendees met last year.  He appreciates members in COMOL for their hard working and Big Data and Digital Convergence Center for assistance during the contest.  He also expects the triumph will inspire more students to study the related fields.

元智大學電機系熊甘霖教授博士生陳訢畬、碩士生黃國閔及洪照祥組成「COMOL」團隊，參加「第二屆半導體大數據分析競賽」榮獲亞軍與獎金十萬元，以及由廠商-鈦思科技所提供的MATLAB資料解析特別獎，獎金一萬元與獎品筆記型電腦。

由台積電與清大主辦的第二屆半導體大數據分析競賽，自2015年7月起跑開始，參賽人數超過500多人，來自全國40所公私立大學，賽程包含培訓課程、初賽、複賽以及決賽，時程長達半年，共有67隊完成初賽，22隊隊伍取得複賽晉級資格，經過進階複賽，再擇優13組隊伍晉級決賽，經過簡報及評審提問答詢，經過評審綜合各項成績決定結果。日前於清華大學「清華名人堂」舉辦頒獎典禮。

COMOL團隊是由元智電機系熊甘霖教授以及學生陳訢畬、黃國閔、洪照祥所組成，隊長陳訢畬及隊員洪照祥提到，這次比賽能與眾多的優秀團隊切磋，收穫十分豐碩。元智電機學生黃國閔說，這次競賽機會難得，最後能夠得名也大大增加了他日後投入大數據分析領域的決心。

指導老師元智電機系教授熊甘霖表示，這次競賽競爭激烈，不少參賽隊伍均參加過去年舉辦的第一屆比賽，因此以元智電機COMOL團隊首次參賽便能得到亞軍殊榮，要特別感謝團隊學生日以繼夜地專注投入，以及元智大學大數據與數位匯流創新中心的支持，也希望這次參賽的結果，能夠提升更多電機專業的同學，日後投入大數據分析相關領域的信心。
