YZU medical research team develops assessing system for predicting kidney disease 元智生醫團隊研發 預測腎病變與療效評估系統

The team “Personalized Precision Medicine Information Biology”, formed by the Big Data and Digital Convergence Center and assisted by nephrology experts, develops a system for personalized diagnosis of chronic kidney disease and providing prevention strategy. The system not only can evaluate the risk of kidney disease but also assess the patient’s medical efficacy.

Team members are Professor Chien-Lung Chan (詹前隆) and Wen-Jia Kuo (郭文嘉) from Information Management, Professor Tzong-Yi Lee(李宗夷) and Tzu-Ya Weng(翁資雅)from Computer Science and Engineering, en-Hao Pan(潘人豪)for the Big Data Center, and Professor Jiann-Shing Shieh(謝建興) from Mechanical Engirneering. Weng said the big data analysis method bases on the patient’s DNA and biology examination data and builds the system for diagnosing diabetes and kidney disease. The system gathers the DNA information early from the infant stage. The risk of disease relates to the lifestyle change. The system also provides lifestyle and diet suggestions for preventing the kidney disease. The team now is optimizing the system to assess the medical efficacy of dialysis patients.

台灣洗腎的發生率雖呈現緩降的趨勢，盛行率卻持續上升，高居世界第一。根據健保署的統計，腎臟病的醫療資源消耗最多，每年洗腎的支出約新台幣371億元。元智大學大數據與數位匯流創新中心組成「個人化精準醫學與生物資訊」團隊，結合醫學中心腎臟科，合作研發一套針對慢性腎臟病的個人化輔助診斷與預防系統，不但可預測腎病變的風險，也可進行個人化療效評估。

近年來台灣健保的財務狀況嚴峻，若能依據患者的病情擬定個人化的診斷及療程，將有助於提升腎臟病的醫療品質，同時改善治療的效率，減輕醫療花費。此研究團隊成員有元智資管系詹前隆、資工系李宗夷、翁資雅、資管系郭文嘉、大數據中心潘人豪及機械系謝建興等幾位教授組成。

元智生物醫學碩士學程助理教授翁資雅表示，利用大數據分析技術，可根據病患基因與生化檢查數據建構糖尿病腎病變診斷輔助系統。此系統從初生嬰兒階段，即可以DNA預測腎病變的風險。風險值將隨著生活型態改變，使用者可透過此系統調整生活飲食，預防腎臟病。目前正優化此系統，對洗腎病患進行個人化的療效評估。

此研發也蒐集病患的尿液進行菌相實驗，擷取大量菌相數據進行分析，全面性的探討病患與微生物的共存或感染機制，提供藥廠研發益生菌或益生元來控制病患病情的基礎，可望降低一般藥物對腎臟產生腎毒性的可能性。

元智大學表示，針對洗腎病人氨濃度偵測，建立分析預測模型，藉由奈米微型感測取得呼出氣體的氨濃度，建立大數據分析模型，不必透過侵入式抽血檢驗，即可預測病患是否需要洗腎，每次洗腎洗多久就足夠，使醫療資源更有效的被利用。

元智大學「大數據與數位匯流創新中心」整合學者的專長，提供精緻的個人化腎臟病輔助診斷與預防系統。未來也將結合超氧殺菌與洗腎後廢水處理的研究，確保儀器的衛生，減少交叉感染，同時使用環保的消毒與淨水技術，減輕廢水汙染。研究成果將對病患醫療品質、健保支出、環境永續帶來助益。
