YZU hands with St. Vincent and Swatini ambassadors to Taiwan to promote cultural diversity 元智寰宇團隊 攜手聖文森、史瓦帝尼駐台大使推展多元文化

Yuan Ze University’s program of “Global Cultural Initiative” has long deepened local cultivation, and improved international education. YZU has signed an agreement with the Embassy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini this May.   H.E. Ambassador Andrea Clare Bowman and H.E. Ambassador Thamie Dlamini personally signed a cooperation agreement with the program director Yu-lan Huang, promising to jointly cultivate multicultural literacy for Taiwanese students, contribute national diplomacy, and promote international education.

元智大學「寰宇文化領航」計畫長期深耕地方，優化國際教育。今年五月與聖文森Embassy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines和史瓦帝尼駐台大使館Embassy of the Kingdom of Eswatini簽署合作備忘錄，由聖文森柏安卓大使H.E. Ambassador Andrea Clare Bowman和史瓦帝尼喇米尼大使H.E. Ambassador Thamie Dlamini親自與計畫主持人黃郁蘭簽署合作，承諾共同為台灣學生培養多元文化素養、促進國民外交機會、推動國際教育而努力。

聖文森駐台大使柏安卓H.E. Ambassador Andrea Clare Bowman表示，優質的教育是國家發展的基石，她來台之前是位教師，也擔任校長多年，深刻體認推動全球文化教育的重要性。柏安卓認為讓孩子擁有一雙看見世界的眼睛，才能胸懷天下，擁抱世界。寰宇團隊為優化國際教育，不遺餘力，精神令人敬佩。聖文森有機會與寰宇計畫合作，感到十分榮幸，她承諾大使館也將全力協助寰宇計畫，實踐大學社會責任。現場也有來自台灣科技大學、台北醫學大學和東華大學的學生會會長出席簽約盛會。

史瓦帝尼駐台大使喇米尼H.E. Ambassador Thamie Dlamini於5月17日親自率領大使館秘書長Ms. Zanele Bhembe等團隊蒞臨元智大學，與寰宇團隊簽署合作備忘錄。喇米尼大使表示，寰宇計畫執行非常成功，意義非凡。不但將跨國文化教育往下扎根，史瓦帝尼國際生也能分享祖國精彩的風情，促進國民外交。喇米尼也在儀式之後，也特別與元智史瓦帝尼學生座談，關懷學生在疫情期間的學習狀況，閒話家常中為學生們緩解思鄉情懷。

 計畫主持人黃郁蘭老師表示，「寰宇文化領航」自2018年啟動至今，以提升國際競爭力和厚植國人英語力為目標，備受各界肯定。此次與聖文森大使館和史瓦帝尼大使館簽署合作，再度將元智大學的社會實踐能量，邁向國際鏈結合作的里程碑，成為本校USR計畫永續發展的動力，也讓世界看見高等教育落實社會責任的決心。
